What dermal fillers actually do.
Dermal fillers are injectable gels, most commonly hyaluronic acid, used to restore lost volume, smooth lines, and enhance facial contours. Unlike neurotoxins, which relax muscle movement, fillers physically add structure and volume beneath the skin, making them the right choice for hollowed cheeks, thinning lips, a soft jawline, or a receding chin.

A full syringe is 1mL of filler and can be used in any area, cheeks, jawline, chin, lips, or elsewhere. A half syringe (0.5mL) is offered exclusively for lips, for patients who want a more subtle result or are treating lips for the first time.
Most areas last 9 to 18 months, though this varies by treatment area, the specific filler used, and individual metabolism. Lips tend to metabolize faster than cheeks or jawline, which is why lip patients often return sooner.
Most patients return to normal activity the same day. Mild swelling or bruising at injection sites is common for a few days, lips in particular tend to swell more noticeably at first before settling into their final shape.
Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks it down. EMVEE also offers filler dissolving as its own treatment for filler that has migrated, overcorrected, or simply needs a reset.
It depends on the area and your goals. A single area like lips often starts with a half or full syringe, while cheeks, jawline, or a combination of areas may need two or more. This is assessed and discussed at consultation, never estimated over the phone.
